Hello, my name is Seakmy Ty, and I am a 23-year-old Cambodian architecture student deeply passionate about urban design and the challenges posed by rapid urbanization. I am originally from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, a city that has experienced tremendous growth in recent years. As I’ve witnessed firsthand the challenges this rapid development brings—such as pollution, the loss of green spaces, and increasing traffic congestion—I’ve become increasingly motivated to find solutions that promote sustainability, resilience, and a better quality of life for urban residents. Living in a city like Phnom Penh has made me realize the urgent need for well-planned urban environments. Rapid urbanization often comes at the cost of environmental and social well-being, which has fueled my desire to contribute to creating cities that balance growth with sustainability. I strongly believe that through thoughtful urban design, we can build cities that not only meet the needs of today's population but also protect the environment and ensure a better future for generations to come.
